Vasudev's 'NO' for Chaubey

Union Expenditure Secretary C M Vasudev is said to have refused to take 1970 batch IAS Officer J N Chaubey in his Ministry as a Joint Secretary. Chaubey who is on foreign assignment is keen to return to the Finance Ministry in place of A K Singh whose tenure is coming to an end. Infact,1970 batch officers are due for promotion to the rank of Additional Secretary.

Charusheela Sohoni to return

Charusheela Sohoni Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance is returning to the parent Maharastra cadre. Tenure of 1971 batch IAS Officer Ms Sohoni has come to an end on August 15.

Gulati Promoted

S G Gulati has been promoted as an Executive Director in the Industrial Development Bank. Gulati was General Manager in the IDBI.His work division is yet to be made.

Joshi joins Uttranchal Government

Assam-Meghalaya cadre 1994 batch IAS Officer Rajiv Chandra Joshi has gone on deputation to the Uttaranchal Government.

Bhilwara to have new SP and Collector

Sudhansh Pant and Srinivas Janga are being appointed Collector and SP respectively of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan.Collector C P Vyas and SP Harish Chandra Bhagat have been transferred in the wake of violent incidents.

Centre to use 'overriding powers'

Union Home Ministry has sent another missive to the TamilNadu Chief Minister to relieve R Rajgopalan, 1965 batch IPS Officer who has been appointed NSG Chief.The GOI has threatened to use 'overriding powers' if the officer is not relieved."No state can easily refuse the directive of the Government of India" themissive says.

Two new Supreme Court Judges

Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Ponka Venkatarama Reddi and another judge in the same court Ashok Bhan have been appointed judges of the Supreme Court . With these two appointments apex court will have full strength of 26 judges.

IAS change in Punjab
Neelkanth Avadh has been appointed SDM of Sangrur. The Punjab Government has also transferred five PCS officers.

Changes in Jharkhand

Over half a dozen secretary level changes have been made in Jharkhand.More changes are expected to take place this month.
