Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office Jarnail Singh has been granted one-year extension in his tenure. He is 1974 batch IAS Officer of Tripura-Manipur cadre.

Malhotra appointed Chairman of Railway Board

R N Malhotra has been appointed new Chairman of the Railway Board. He will replace Ashok Kumar who is superannuating on August 31.

Mitra to replace Raha

A K Mitra will be new Director (Human Resource) Indian Oil Corporation.The PESB has cleared the name of Mitra for the post which has fallen vacant following the appointment of Subir Raha as Chairman of the ONGC.

Subhash Sharma to be new NDMC Chief

Finally with the blessings of Union Home Minister L K Adwani Subhash Sharma has been chosen for the prestigious job of the Chairman New Delhi Municipal Council.Orders of 1970 batch IAS Officer Subhash Sharma are to be issued this week. Two other senior Officers Adarsha Mishra and Navin Chawla were also in the run for the post. The present NDMC Chief Bobby Mishra is joining the Finance Ministry as an Additional Secretary.

Mukhopadhyay to replace Subhash Sharma

Joint Chief Labour Commissioner Mukhopadhyay is being appointed Labour Commissioner in the Government of India.He is an officer of the Central Labour Services. He will replace 1970 batch UT cadre IAS Officer Subhash Sharma who is all set to become NDMC Chief.

P P Sharma has been appointed Secretary Industries.Sudhir Sharma will be new Secretary Energy.Neelam Nath has been shifted to Forests and Tourism.Sunil Basant has been made Secretary Medical Education.On his return from Deputation to the Government of India B K Chauhan has been appointed Secretary Health.A few other changes have also been made.

Andhra Pradesh cadre IPS Officer Rajiv Trivedi has been successful in swimming across the straits of Gibraltar recently.1986 batch officer, Rajiv Trivedi who is 41 is DIG Police in Andhra Pradesh.
