Bhattacharya is new RC AP Bhavan R Bhattacharya is the new Resident Commissioner, Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi.1978 batch IAS Officer Bhattacharya was Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat before taking up the new assignment. He has replaced Dr V V P C Sastry who has joined the Commerce Ministry. Kale appointed Ombudsman S G Kale ,a retired IAS Officer has been appointed banking Ombudsman for Maharastra and Goa. The RBI made his appointment. New ED IOC South The Indian Oil Corporation has appointed R V Krishnamurthy as new Executive Director (South) with immediate effect. New ED Salem Steel Shiv Nandan Prasad Singh has taken over as the Executive Director of Salem Steel Plant.He was earlier General Manager Bokarao Steel Plant. Why this last minute change? The Finance Ministry again failed to appoint a full time Chairman of the IDBI.When P P Vora was set to take over as the new Chief of the bank on August 1,last minute change was made by asking S K Kapur to temporarily head the top term-lender. Why the decision to appoint Vora as IDBI Chief was changed at the last moment is anybody's guess. This is the fourth time that the Ministry has appointed acting Chief of the IDBI. Dangwal is DG Jails S P Dangwal has been promoted to the rank of Director General in Madhya Pradesh. 1966 batch IPS Officer Dangwal on promotion has been posted as DG Jails. He has replaced V P Singh who retired on July 31. Two new CS rank officers in Orissa Two 1967 batch IAS Officers R K Panda and K J S Chatrath have been promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary in Orissa.With this the number of CS rank officers in the state has risen to five. Panda has been shifted to Board of Revenue and Chatrath has been made DG Academy of Administration. No decision about Rajgopalan The TamilNadu Government as of now has not relieved R Rajgopalan. Former DGP during the DMK regime Rajgopalan has been appointed Chief of the NSG.Meanwhile, the state Government has also turned down the directive of the Government of India to send three police officers on deputation. IAS changes in Punjab Chairperson of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education Ravneet Kaur has been posted as Principal Secretary Defence Services Welfare Department. Vijay Kan will be Chairman of Education and Industrial Training Centre. Gurdeo Singh Siddhu has been made Special Secretary Irrigation. Six months extension to Shekhawat The Government of India has granted six months extension to G S Shekhawat, Director of the Central Potato Research Institute Simla. Manipur to abolish 15,000 posts The Manipur Government has decided to abolish 15,000 posts in the state as part of its downsizing programmes. The Government will, however, regularise 5,000 posts. |
