Shyamal Dutta unlikely to be appointed

If top sources are to be believed former Chief of the Intelligence Bureau is unlikely to be appointed Governor of TamilNadu.Though some quarters have floated the name of Dutta who has already moved to Calcutta with bag and baggage.Appointment of new Governor is however, being made this month.

IAS Officer resigns

West Bengal cadre 1969 batch IAS Officer Pranab Ray has resigned. Ray who is a senior IAS Officer of the West Bengal Government is joining private sector.

R C Agrawal is ADG BSF

R C Agrawal has been appointed Additional Director General of the Border Security Force(BSF). He is 1968 batch IPS Officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. Agrawal will replace M K Singh who has joined as DG Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB).

Chandrasekhar moves to Geneva

In a way posting of 1970 batch IAS Officers to the rank of Additional Secretary in the Government of India has commenced. Kerala cadre 1970 batch IAS Officer K M Chandrasekhar who is number one in the empanelled officers has moved to Geneva as India's new ambassador to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).He has replaced S Naryanan who retired on November 30.

IPS Officer suspended

K Venkateswar Rao ,Madhya Pradesh cadre 1995 batch IPS Officer has been suspended. He was arrested in Hyderabad last month in dowry harassment case.

IAS changes in TamilNadu

Vivek Harinarayan is the new Secretary Information Technology.Ajay Bhattacharya will be Commissioner and Director Survey and Settlement.On her return from leave Shalini Vashistha has been made Commissioner for disciplinary proceedings.Mohammad Nasimuddin will now be Director Social Defence.

Singh shifted to Home Guards in Punjab

Additional Director General Wireless and Computers S V Singh has been transferred to Home Guards and Civil Defence.

B P Singh is judge of Supreme Court

Justice B P Singh Chief Justice of the Mumbai High Court has been appointed judge of the Supreme Court of India.

Manjula Subramaniam is Chairperson GEB

Dr Manjula Subramaniam has been appointed Chairperson of the Gujrat Electricity Board. She is 1972 batch IAS Officer.Post had been lying vacant for quite some time after the resignation of Nalin Bhatt.

IAS changes in Madhya Pradesh

Secretary Animal Husbandary and Fisheries Khushi Ram has been transferred to Board of Revenue as Administrative Member. Secretary Finance M K Roy has been given additional charge of Animal Husbandary. Salina Singh Controller Drugs has also been given additional charge of Public Health and Family Welfare.

Prakash Singh is ED Punjab & Sindh Bank

Prakash Singh has been appointed Executive Director of the Punjab and Sindh Bank.

Sohal to return NTPC

Chairman of the Punjab Electricity Board Guru Charan Singh Sohal is returning to the parent organisation NTPC. He has been relieved by the Punjab Government.
