Agrawal to join India's mission this month

R P Agrawal is joining as Deputy Chief of India's Mission in Brussels this month end. 1972 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS Officer Agrawal is currently Joint Secretary in the Commerce Ministry .He will replace K M Chandrasekhar who has joined the WTO in Geneva.

Gujrat Government has planned to downsize the Government by 20 per cent.In the light of this decision loss making corporations will be closed down next year.

Will Meenakshi Hooja continue ?

The selection of the new Senior Directing Staff of the National Defence College may not come soon. Now the powers that be are contemplating to give another extension to the present incumbent Meenakshi Hooja 1975 batch IAS Officer of Rajasthan cadre. Two months ago there was a proposal to hand over the responsibility to Madhya Pradesh cadre 1978 batch IAS Officer Sudarshan Singhal and afterwards Assam -Meghalaya cadre 1974 batch IAS Officer Alok Jain became a hot favourite of the PMO.

Chhatisgarh wants more IPS Officers

Newly carved out state Chhatisgarh has urged the Centre to increase cadre strength of IPS Officers from the present 59 to 81. A formal letter has already been sent to the Government of India.

Case withdrawn against IAS Officer

Assam Government has withdrawn criminal case against 1991 batch Nagaland cadre IAS Officer Ihielie Sekhose on the ground that he is suffering from cancer.He was charged under the wildlife protection act.Infact, Nagaland Government had requested the Assam Government for withdrawing the case.

Retired IAS Officers to join BJP

After S D Bagla couple of retired IAS Officers have also decided to join the Bhartiya Janata Party.They are already in touch with the BJP leaders.

IPS officers unhappy in Kerala

Cadre IPS Officers are quite unhappy with the Antony Government in Kerala.They have a feeling that the UDF Government is giving preference to the State Police Service Officers. They say that nine SPS officers are currently posted as SP in districts.
