Agrawal to be JS Commerce

Rameshwar Pal Agrawal is to join Ministry of Commerce as Joint Secretary. He is 1972 batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS Officer.He will replace 1970 batch Kerala cadre IAS Officer K M Chandra Shekhar who has taken over as ambassador WTO.

In the case of Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS Officer V N Rai the Prime Minister's Office turned down the recommendation of the Home Ministry.Ministry of Home Affairs had sent a proposal to grant an extension to V N Rai IG in the Border Security Force.The PMO, however, rejected the proposal.
