Will Tripathi be Chief Secretary of UP?

After the refusal by B K Chaturvedi, now the name of Sant Kumar Tripathi is in circulation for the post of Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh. The 1966 batch IAS Officer is currently on deputation to the Government of India. The post is to fall vacant this month end following the superannuating of Bhola Nath Tiwari.Name of A P Singh is also being mentioned for the job.

1975 batch IPS to get promotion in TN

The TamilNadu Government has decided to promote 1975 batch IPS Officers to the rank of ADG .A couple of officers of this batch will get the promotion in a month or two.

Prasar Bharti clears 15 names for DDG

Prasar Bharti has cleared 15 names for the promotion to the rank of Deputy Director General.Names have been cleared in DPC meeting held in Delhi recently. While 11 promotions will be made in the Akashvani, 4 in the Doordarshan.

The Union Urban Development Minister Jagmohan has forwarded a panel of three IAS Officers for the post of Commissioner Land Disposal Delhi Development Authority. The post has fallen vacant following the expiry of tenure of Sharda Prasad.

Pandit will be new DGP UP

Finally the Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to appoint R K Pandit as the new DGP.He is 1966 batch IPS Officer of the Uttranchal cadre. Union Home Ministry has permitted the UP Government to use the services of Pandit.Though Y K Mishra of the same batch was also a contender for the post.

Rakesh Bansal has been appointed Secretary of theMadhya Pradesh Election Commission. He is 1974 batch IAS Officer.

S Govindrajan will be the new Managing Director of the State Bank of India.He will succeed Vepa Kameswar who has joined as Deputy Governor Reserve Bank of India. Chandan Bhattacharya will be new DMD of the bank in Hyderabad.

IPS transfers without the knowledge of the DGP!

Believe it or not The DGP of Orissa K D Bajpai came to know about the transfers of senior IPS Officers through newspapers. Only two days ago one dozen senior IPS Officers were transferred by the Orissa Government.Normally IPS transfers are made in consultations with the state DGP. Though, Bajpai is retiring this month end.
