A piquant situation has arisen in the Income-Tax department. Currently sixty Chief Income-Tax Commissioners and five hundred Income-Tax Commissioners in the country have no work to do.Infact, no work allotment has so far been done to these IT Officials. Who is to be blamed.?

A Reddy, the 1966 batch IPS Officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre is ahead in the race. Y Shrivastava of the Haryana cadre and Dinesh Jugran of Madhya Pradesh cadre are also in the run.

V C Goyal an Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS Officer has joined the IIPA.Goyal was IG in the Border Security Force prior to his joining the IIPA.

1969 batch IAS Officer to replace Devi Dayal

Speculation was rife in the bureaucratic circles that Uttar Pradesh cadre 1970 batch IAS Officer D P Singh would replace Banking Secretary Devi Dayal .Now the Government has decided to post 1969 batch IAS Officer as head of the Banking. Name of S K Purakayastha currently Additional Secretary Agriculture is doing the round for the post. He is 1969 batch IAS Officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

Bhanu's post vacant

Post of Director in the Ministry of Tourism is yet to be filled. Minister has so far not forwarded any name for the post. 1985 Batch IAS Officer M G V K Bhanu who was Director has gone back to the parent Assam cadre as PS to the Chief Minister Tarun Gogai.

Name of Ministry to be changed

Name of Small Scale Industries is being changed in the Government of India. Now the name of the Ministry will be ' Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Agro and Rural.' Proposal to change the name of the Ministry is to be approved by the Union Cabinet.

Garg to join GOI

Sandeep Garg is joining the Government of India as Deputy Secretary in the Petroleum Ministry. He is 1991 batch IAS Officer of Haryana cadre.
