Pahwa is not wanted !

 

Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister S S Dhindsa is keen to have a new Secretary.The Minister has requested Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to change his Secretary Ashok Pahwa a Haryana cadre IAS Officer. Dhindsa wants services of N N Khanna who is currently Secretary Sports and Youth Welfare. Will Prime Minister oblige Dhindsa?.
 

 


 



Krishna Swamy to be new Vice Chief

The Government has appointed S Krishna Swamy as the new Vice-Chief of the Air Staff. He will take over new assignment in December.

Changes in IT Department

 

A major reshuffle has taken place in the Income-Tax Department. According to Finance Ministry sources 10 Commissioners of Income Tax have been transferred and 73 Commissioners have been promoted as Chief Commissioners at different places. Several new posts have also been created in the country.

S C Grover has taken over as chief IT Commissioner in Amritsar. He would also be looking after J&K and Bhatinda.Chief Commissioner IT Kolkata D N S Sinha has been shifted to Nagpur in the same capacity.Subrata Das will replace Sinha in Kolkata

Four Chief General Managers in the State Bank of India are being appointed Deputy Managing Directors.They are: C Bhattacharya CGM Personal Banking,N K Puri CGM Foreign Affairs, N Sadasivan CGM Mumbai Circle and S Krishnan CGM Corporate Accounts Group.
 

 

 

Disinvestment of Air India imminent

 

Disinvestment of the Air India is certain.All the formalities are expected to be completed within two months. Tata's are all set to buy the Air India.Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is said to have Okayed the deal.
 

 

 

 

 

DD official's imprisonment suspended

 

The Banglore High Court has suspended four years rigorous imprisonment awarded by the CBI court to Ms Kamla Hemmige . She was Programme Executive in the Banglore Doordarshan Kendra and was charged corruption.
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New Northern Railway GM

 

Sampat Dashrathi has taken over as the new General Manager of Northern Railway.He joined Railways in 1964.He has replaced S P Mehta after his superannuation.
