Cabinet Secretary's tenure may be two years!

The Union Cabinet may decide on Tuesday that the tenure of Cabinet Secretary should be atleast for a period of two years. If the proposal is accepted tenure of present Cabinet Secretary T R Prasad will be extended automatically beyond July.All the top contenders for the post are now keeping their fingers crossed.
 

 




 

Why did Gopal Swamy meet Shourie?

A meeting between Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie and senior IAS officer N Gopal Swamy has raised many an eyebrow in the bureaucratic circles. The 1966 batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre Swamy who is currently Secretary General in the National Human Rights Commission is all set to become a Secretary in the government of India this month.Is this meeting something to do with the Secretaryship of the Disinvestment Ministry?.
 

 

 

 

Manohar Lal is Vasundhara's choice!

Manohar Lal a 1977 batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre has been cleared by the ACC for the post of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Labour. He is said to be the choice of Minister of State Personnel Vasundhara Raje Scindia who also hails from Rajasthan.He will replace Surjeet Kishore Das a 1973 batch IAS officer who has returned to the parent Uttranchal cadre.
 

 

 

 

Manipur IPS officers to return?

Inview of the current situation in Manipur there is a move to send back all the IPS officers on deputation to the Government of India.The Home Ministry has asked all the MT cadre IPS officers who have completed five years tenure to pack and return this month end. Some of the officers are posted in the IB and the CBI.Names of the officers include Ms Kuldip Kumar, H S Sandhu,Pramod Asthana,S Nath Singh, A K Shukla, Anand Prakash, M Madan Mohan, S Shrinivas Prasad, B S Yadav, Aneesh Dayal Singh and Rahul Rasgotra.
