Prasad's gain is Dora's loss

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu seems to be satisfted with the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government, atleast, for the present.His blue eyed Cabinet Secretary Tata Ramchandra Prasad who took over on November 1 last year, has been assured an extension beyond July 31.But, this has made the chances of Andhra Pradesh DGP H J Dora becoming CBI Chief bleak.Having his share in Prasad's extension now Naidu may not be able to pressurise the Union Government for Dora with the same intensity as in the past.
 

 




 

Jadhav to be JS Power

Arvind Jadhav will be Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power in the Government of India. Name of Jadhav a 1978 batch IAS Officer of the Karnataka cadre has been cleared by the ACC. Jadhav will replace 1970 batch IAS Officer Baleshwar Rai who has gone to Goa as Chief Secretary.

 
 

 

 

 

Batchmates boon for Chhatisgarh

All pleas of Madhya Pradesh on the power front have fallen on deaf ears. Union Government has taken sides with Chhatisgarh.Latter's Chief Secretary Arun Kumar has come out to be the batchmate and a friend of the Union Power Secretary A K Basu.Both belong to 1965 batch IAS.And, thus inclination of the Centre towards the newly carved out Chhatisgarh, as far as power is concerned is quite understandable.
 

 

 

 

Achla Moulik to retire

Achla Moulik Secretary Elementary Education in the Government of India is retiring this month end. She is 1964 batch IAS Officer of the Karnataka cadre.

 
 

 

 

 

Major reshuffle in Income-Tax department

 

A major reshuffle has taken place in the Income -Tax department. While 205 Commissioners have been transferred, 354 Additional Commissioners have been promoted to the rank of Commissioner.Several new posts have been created in the different parts of the country.
 

 

 

 

An angry Chief Minister

Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal is quite angry these days with bureaucracy. This is evident from an outburst before a group of senior IAS Officers `mind it I am the Chief Minister and you have to obey my orders'.What could be the reason of Badal's anger ?.

Padi to be DGP Orissa

 

N C Padi Special Director Intelligence Bureau will be the next Director General of Police Orissa.The 1966 batch IPS Officer Padi will replace K D Bajpai who is retiring on July 31.
 

 

 

 

More Secretary level changes on June 29

 

On Monday the Government of India appointed V N Kaul as the new Petroleum Secretary. The 1965 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS Officer is currently Secretary Petro-Chemicals. Secretary Information Technology Vinay Kohli will replace Kaul. Rajiv Ratan Shah has been made Secretary IT. More Secretary level changes are expected to take place on June 29.
