Will Chaturvedi replace Moulik?

Child and Woman Welfare Secretary in the Government of India B K Chaturvedi is likely to replace Achla Moulik. The 1964 batch Karnataka cadre IAS Officer Achla Moulik who is currently Secretary Elementary Education is retiring this month end. Another rumour says that Gopal Swamy a 1966 batch IAS Officer of the Gujrat cadre will either be Secretary Culture or Elementary Education. Secretary level changes are expected to take place this weekend.
 

 




 

Officials and extension to Cabinet Secretary

As expected the Union Cabinet on Tuesday decided to grant extension to the present Cabinet Secretary Tata Ramchandra Prasad.When the decision was taken all the bureaucrats present in the meeting were asked to leave. One thing is certain that there will be no fixed two-year tenure for the Cabinet Secretary and the power to grant an extension will be discretionary.

 

 

 

 

Shrivastava to be JS Defence

 

Rakesh Shrivastava is being appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. The 1981 batch IAS Officer of the Rajasthan cadre is currently a Director in the same Ministry. Name of Shrivastava for the post is to be cleared by the ACC in a week or so.
 

 

 

 

Will Asha Murthy be changed?

Grapevine has it that the Chairman of the ITDC Asha Murthy is being changed. Union Tourism Minister Anant Kumar is unhappy with the working of Ms Murthy and is keen to have a new Chairman. Will the Minister be able to remove an Andhra Pradesh cadre IAS Officer Asha Murthy?.

 

 

 

 

IAS changes in Orissa

About half a dozen IAS Officers in Orissa have been transferred. Director Tourism and Chairman of the Orissa Tourism Development Corporation Suresh Mantri has been made Registrar Co-ooperative Societies.Director Employment Gopinath Mohanty will replace Mantri in Tourism. Gautam Das has been appointed Director Employment.U P Singh on his return from the Government of India has been posted as Transport Commissioner. Suresh Patnaik IG Registration has been given additional charge of Veterinary Services.
 

 

 

 

Two new DG's in Punjab

The Punjab Government has promoted M S Bhullar and Jarnail Singh Chahal to the rank of Director General. Bhullar has been made DG Punjab Armed Police. Chahal will be DG Railways.

The new Gogai Government has effected a major IAS Reshuffle in Assam. DC Kamrup D N Saikia has been made Home Secretary.
