Kapoor to head IDBI !

 

Now this is certain that the two powerful contenders for the post of Chairman IDBI,Basudeb Sen and V P Singh are out of the race. The post is to fall vacant in a couple of months.If all goes well S K Kapoor currently Executive Director will head the prestigious IDBI.
 

 


 



Ashok Basak is Secretary in GOI

Ashok Basak is the new Secretary Official Languages in the Government of India. He is 1967 batch IAS officer of the Maharastra cadre. Basak has replaced K B Saxena 1964 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer who superannuated last week. Incidentally Ashok Basak was the Power Secretary in Maharastra when the Enron deal was signed.

 
 

 

 

 

Will any technocrat be Secretary Petroleum ?

 

There is a serious thinking in the PMO about the appointment of a technocrat as Petroleum Secretary. The IAS lobby on the other hand is determined to scuttle the move. Barring V Kelkar the post has always been held by the IAS officers.Appointment of new Secretary Petroleum is expected in a day or two.

N P Nawani is the Chairman of the Uttaranchal Public Service Commission. He is retired 1964 batch IAS officer . He had been Secretary Information and Broadcasting in the Government of India.

Mongia to be sworn in

 

Justice Ravinder Singh Mongia of the Punjab and Haryana High Court will be sworn in as judge of the Gouhati High Court on June 6.
