VRS package is on cards 1

Atal Behari Vajpayee Government is ready with a VRS package for the Central Government employees. The Government is determined to downsize bureaucracy and the proposal is mooted in that direction. Official announcement of the Government is expected this month end or in the first week of June.

97 police officers for Kosovo

Altogether 97 police officers have reached Kosova as part of India's commitment to rebuild the war-torn place. The officers are from different parts of the country.

IPS promotions in Rajasthan

Eight IPS officers have been promoted in Rajasthan.S S Darbari has been promoted to the rank of ADG and posted in the Home Guards and Civil Defence.Two DIG's Bhaskar Chaterjee and Arvind Kumar Jain have been made IGP's. Five SP rank officers Ms Sunil Mehrotra, Sudhakar Johri,Thandi Lal Meena, Dinesh Sharma and Hanuman Singh Bishnoi have been promoted to the rank of DIG.

Transfers in CBEC

Forty Commissioners have been transferred in the Central Excise and Customs Department.Some important posts are yet to be filled. Meanwhile, promotion list of the Additional Commissioners is getting ready by the CBEC.

A Krishnamurthy, who resigned as General Manager,Andhra Bank is being tipped to be Chairman of the Lakshmi Vilas Bank

IAS reshuffle in Rajasthan

A major IAS reshuffle has taken place in Rajasthan.Principal Secretary Finance Anil Vaishy has been replaced by M D Korani CMD of State Roadways Transport Corporation.Vaishya will be CMD of the Rajasthan State Industrial Development Corporation.J Psingh on his return from deputation to the GOI has been made CMD of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation.O P Behari goes as the Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary.Harish Nayyar and Parmesh Chandra have been given other postings after being promoted.Sallauddin Ahmad will be Secretary Administrative Reforms.Pradip Sen and Purshottam Agrawal have been made Secretary Technical Education and Commissioner Commercial Taxes respectively.Damodar Sharma has been sent to the State Election Commission.Other IAS officers who figure in the transfer list are :Sandeep Verma,Govind Sharma,Srimat Pandey,Mukesh Kumar Sharma,B L Arya,Rashmi Priya Darshini,Lalit Mehra,Deepak Upreti,Khemraj,Siyaram Meena,Atul Sharma,K P Singhal Manoj Sharma, R S Gathala and R S Pratihar.

Paramjeet Sandhu has been promoted and posted as IG Intelligence Punjab.A couple of IPS officers have also been changed.

IAS Changes in Haryana

Four IAS officers have ben changed in Haryana.J P Kaushal ADC Kaithal has been made District Transport Officer Jhajjar. T K Sharma has been sent to Rohtak as Deputy Commissioner. M P Bansal will be Additional Director Urban Estates Pnchakula. J P S Dahiya MD Cooperative Sugar Mill Kaithal has been given additional charge of Deputy Commissioner.

Only 20 woman judges

There are only 20 women judges in the country.Of the 2o, one woman judge is in the Supreme Court and 19 in the High Courts.Supreme Court has the strength of 26 judges while 647 in all the 21 High Courts in the country.
