A V Singh to join Defence Ministry ?

Chief Secretary of the Uttaranchal A V Singh is likely to join the Ministry of Defence in the Government of India.Singh an IAS officer of 1967 batch may head Defence Procurement Board.Defence Minister Jaswant Singh is said to have already discussed the appointment of Singh with Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.Jaswant Singh and A V Singh are quite close because both hail from Rajasthan.

New DG Doordarshan

T R Malakar has been appointed Director General of the Doordarshan.The post had been lying vacant for quite some time. He is the seniormost DDG in the Doordarshan.

Yadav not to be relieved

The Chhatisgarh Government has refused to relieve the DG rank IPS officer R L S Yadav.The Union Home Ministry ,it may be recalled has directed the Chhatisgarh Government to repatriate Yadav,the 1966 batch IPS officer to the parent Madhya Pradesh cadre

Gaikwad is DG Akashvani

The Prasar Bharti has appointed M D Gaikwad as Director General of the All India Radio. The post that was lying vacant for the last two years was earlier held by Omprakash Kejriwal.

Bharat Bhushan to get extension

Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce Bharat Bhushan is being given three months extension. Tenure of 1979 batch Kerala cadre IAS officer is coming to an end in June.
