Will N C Saxena be next Cabinet Secretary ?

If the Government goes by seniority Naresh Chandra Saxena should be the next Cabinet Secretary.The 1964 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Saxena is currently Member of the Planning Commission.He will retire in July next year. Bureaucratic circles, however, consider his chances to be bleak.

Trinath Mishra to be DGP UP ?

Who will be the next Director General of Police Uttar Pradesh after the retirement of M C Dwivedi in July next?.Name of CRPF DG Trinath Mishra is in circulation for the post. Mishra and the UP Chief Minister Raj Nath Singh have been family friends for the last several years. Will the 1965 batch IPS officer of the UP cadre Mishra go as DGP and that too when the assembly elections are due early next year ?

Only 54 IAS posts

Civil Services preliminary examinations were conducted last week. If UPSC sources are to be believed there are only 54 IAS posts this year and out of this 27 are for reserved category.
