Shankar in Dilemma! Petroleum Secretary P Shankar is in great dilemma these days. The 1965 batch IAS officer of theTamil Nadu cadre Shankar is in Chennai today to scuttle the move of making him Chief Secretary. While the Chief Minister Jayalalitha is keen to have Shankar as her Chief Secretary,the latter is unwilling to leave the Centre. Revenue Secretary S Narayan has already declined the offer.If the proposal did not materialise the 1967 batch IAS officer Laxmi Ratan is sure to head the bureaucracy in Tamil Nadu. Who will

Nair succeed B B Tandan, the present Secretary Personnel in the Government
of India?.Nair who is currently Establishment Officer in the department
is to be elevated to the rank of Secretary soon. 1967 batch Punjab cadre
IAS officer Nair has been granted three months extension in his tenure
courtesy his Secretary Tandan who is joining the Election Commission.Now
Tandan wants Nair as his successor but the Minister Personnel Vasundhara
Raje Scindia is totally against the appointment of her EO as Secretary.Now

new ONGC CMD Subir Raha
has taken over as the new Chairman cum Managing Director of the Oil
and Natural Gas Commission. He has succeeded B C Bora who superannuated

in VSNL Some changes have taken place in the Videsh Sanchar Nigam.Rajneesh Gupta ,Director (Networks) has been transferred from Kolkata to New Delhi.He will also be incharge of the northern region.Hardev Singh has been appointed Director (Development) in place of Vinod Goyal who has left VSNL. New Advocate General in Assam Amrit Pukan and Niloy Dutta have been appointed new Advocate General and Additional Advocate General respectively in Assam. They are senior advocates in the state. Gupta joins Lord Krishna Bank V K Gupta who has served in various positions in Oriental Bank of Commerce and Central Bank of India has joined as Executive Director of Lord Krishna Bank. Power Bill through internet In Hyderabad now power bill can be paid through internet. The decision of the Government will come into force from June. Though, power consumers will have to pay extra Rs 15 per bill. Bihar Intelligence Chief in trouble The Bihar Government is quite unhappy these days with the Intelligence Chief Ashok Kumar Gupta.The Government has sought an explanation from him as to how the state intelligence failed on a number of occasions in the recent past. His shifting now seems certain. IPS Transfers in Tamil Nadu About two dozen IPS Officers have been transferred by the Jayalalitha Government.The list include two ADGPs, threeIGs,Six DIGs,three Deputy Commissioners and one Joint Commissioner.D Manoharan ADGP CID has been made Chief Vigilance Officer TN Water and Drainage Board and another ADGP R V Gopalanhas been shifted to Civil Defence Training.Narinder Pal Singh will be the new Police Commissioner Coimbatore.He will replace K Radhakrishnan.R Sekar IG Elections will now be City Police Commissioner Tiruneveli. |
