Will Basu go to West Bengal ?

Grapevine has it that Power Secretary A K Basu would go to West Bengal in case the Trinmool Congress comes to power. The Trinmool Congress leader Mamta Banerjee has indicated that Basu, the 1965 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre would be her Chief Secretary.

IAS transfers in Orissa

Fourteen district collectors have been transferred in Orissa. There are altogether thirty districts in the state.Collectors of Cuttack,Balesore,Puri,Kendrapada, Koraput, Nuapada,Raygada,Nabrangpur,Malkangiri, Bolangir,Kandhamal, Boudh and Dhenkanal and Keonjhar have been shifted.Most of the transfers have been made under political pressures.

Two new High Court judges

Karanam Sreedhar Rao has been appointed judge of the Karnataka High Court. Similarly Sanjay Kishan Kaul has been made Additional judgeof the Delhi High Court.

IPS officers shifted in UP

About half a dozen DIGs have been shifted in Uttar Pradesh. Those who are affected include Jagmohan Yadav,Ram Adhar,Gopal Gupta, Prem Chand, and Deve Dutta.

RBI Regional Director

K Sivraman is the new Regional Director Reserve Bank of India for TamilNadu and Pondicherry. He has replaced A Somasundaram after his retirement.

1977 batch IPS officers promoted in IB

All the 1977 batch IPS officers working with the Intelligence Bureau have been promoted to the rank of IG.They are Ms Jay Raman, Asif Ibrahim, Arun Chaudhry and C S Parcha.

KAS officers residence raided

The Lokayukta police organisation in Karnataka has raided the residence of a senior KAS officer A S Govindraj and found 1.05 crore assets disproportionate to his sources of income.
