If all goes well A K Purwar will be next Chairman of the State Bank of India. Purwar who is currently Managing Director of the State Bank of Patiala would replace Janki Ballabh who is superannuating in October next.

Grapevine has it that Dhanendra Kumar will be next Secretary Tele-communications. 1968 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer Dhanendra Kumar is considered to be very close to Communication Minister Pramod Mahajan. His name is also doing the round for the post of Special Secretary Power.

Appointment of Reddy and Vasudev cleared

Deputy Governor of the RBI Y B Reddy and Finance Secretary C M Vasudev will be Executive Directors of the IMF and World Bank respectively. Government of India has cleared appointments of Reddy and Vasudev for a period of three years beginning August 1. Reddy and Vasudev would succeed Vijay Kelkar and B P Singh respectively.

Why Cabinet Secretary is annoyed with Reva Nayyar ?
