Half a dozen IAS Officers to get Secretary rank

If all goes well half a dozen IAS Officers will get Secretary rank in the Government of India next week during the review meeting. Dharmarajan Krishnan (TamilNadu 1966) ,Sathi Nair (Andhra Pradesh 1966), N L Lakhanpal (Maharastra 1967) G C Shrivastava (UT 1967) Arun Gupta (Madhya Pradesh 1967) and D S Bagga (Uttar Pradesh) are expected to get Diwali gift from the Atal Behari Vajpayee Government.A couple of other IAS Officers will also be considered.

Rastogi is new JS PMO

Pramod Kumar Rastogi has joined the Prime Minister's Office as Joint Secretary. He is 1974 batch IAS Officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre.

Jung to stay !

Now chances of Civil Aviation Secretary A H Jung moving from the ministry are remote atleast for the next couple of months.Earlier his removal from the Ministry was being considered a certainty.Jung is said to trying for the post of CAG.

K K Kashyap has taken over as new Police Commissioner of Nagpur.1969 batch IPS Officer Kashyap has replaced P K B Chakravorty.

1975 batch IPS to get promotion in West Bengal

About Half a dozen IPS Officers of 1975 batch are being promoted to the rank of IG in West Bengal.A couple of superseded officers may also be promoted. Ms Anil Kumar, Prithvi Nath Saha, Kirti Ranjan Sengupta, Shyam Kumar Mukherjee ,Ram Krishna Roy,A M Khan, A M Joardar, N Mukherjee and R S Rawat belong to this batch.

1983 batch IPS to be IG in Madhya Pradesh

A couple of 1983 batch IPS Officers are being promoted to the rank of IG in Madhya Pradesh either this month or early next month. Ms D M Mitra , R C Chhari and Rustam Singh of this batch are sure to be promoted.

R Padmnabhan to be CS Andman & Nicober

R Padmnabhan will be new Chief Secretary of Andman & Niciber Island. 1973 batch UT cadre IAS Officer Padmnabhan is currently Development Commissioner Pondicherry. He will replace Balbir Singh who is superannuating this month end.

IG Warangal range Balvinder Singh has been made IG (Legal) in the Police Headquarters.Satyanarain will now be DIG Karnul Range. DIG Home Guards D Gautam Swang has been appointed DIG Warangal Range. Abhilasha Bhistha is posted as SP Cuddapah. Nalin Prabhat who was SP Cuddapah has been shifted to Warangal in the same capacity.SP Warangal VP Apte has been made SP Intelligence.SP Railways Secunderabad Govind Singh will now be DCP South Zone. Umapati has been transferred to AP Police Academy as Deputy Director.

Two new envoys

Ramiah Rajgopal has been appointed India's new envoy to the Kingdom of Morocco. Currently he is posted in Cuba. Surinder Singh Gill India's envoy to Bahrain will now be country's ambassador to Mexico.

A K Singh will be new Chief Commissioner Customs Delhi.He is coming on transfer from Lucknow. S P Shrivastava has been posted to Lucknow. Chief Commissioner Customs and Excise Jaipur S K Bharadwaj has been transferred to Mumbai. Virendra Singh Chief Commissioner Customs Mumbai has been shifted to National Academy of Excise and Narcotics Faridabad as DG. Dalbir Singh who is DG in Faridabad Academy has been made DG CEI.

Narad bereaved

Mrs Leela Narad mother of Additional Secretary Petroleums Naresh Narad died in Sitapur. She was cremated at Hardwar on Friday.
