Who will be next Cabinet Secretary ?

Though the extended term of present Cabinet Secretary T R Prasad would expire next year,one thing is certain that the new incumbent to the post would be from 1966 batch. Going by its latest decision that now onwards only those left with a minimum of two years of service would qualify for the post,the Government is now left with four such IAS Officers who fall in the category.And the co-incidence is that all of them Ms Deepak Chaterjee Secretary Mines, Vinod Dhal Secretary Company Affairs, B K Chaturvedi Secretary Elementary Education and Arun Bhatnagar Secretary Rural Development belong to 1966 batch. Amongst these four Secretaries in the Government of India who would head the Indian Bureaucracy ?.

Tenure of S Krishnan Director General ,Employment and Training in the Government of India ended last week. He is 1975 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS Officer.

Former DGP of Karnataka C Dinakar has filed a PIL against Banglore Police Commissioner H T Sangliana's action to widen a road in the city by felling trees. Dinakar is now practising lawyer in the Karnataka High Court.

S K Chaturvedi is ED Vigilance NTC

S K Chaturvedi will take over as Executive Director (Vigilance) National Textile Corporation on Friday . Prior to this new assignment 1971 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS Officer Chaturvedi was ED (Vigilance) in the Steel Authority of India (SAIL). This post was earlier held by a West Bengal cadre IAS Officer.

P S Gill will be new ADG (Law and Order).R V Raju will replace Gill in the Police Academy as Director.Two 1984 batch IPS Officer P L Gupta and Rajendra Kumar have been promoted to the rank of IG. Now Gupta will be IG Jammu Range. Rajendra Kumar has been made IG Kashmir Range with headquarters in Srinagar.
