Basu to head CERC !

Though , several IAS officers including Ajit Kumar and Devidayal are in the run for the job of Chairman Central Electricity Regulatory Commission,appointment of Power Secretary A K Basu is being considered to be a certainty. This prestigious post would be vacant in February .And 1965 batch IAS Officer of the West Bengal cadre ,Basu is superannuating in March.

IPS promotions delayed in Bihar

Promotions of 1979 and 1984 batch IPS officers in Bihar have been delayed following the objections raised by the Comptroller and Auditor General(CAG).A team of the CAG which had recently visited the state had described the IPS cadre management as being top heavy.

Railway passes to be taxable ?

Income Tax Department has proposed to bring passes isssued by the Railways under the purview of IT.If this proposal is accepted by the Railway Ministry 14 lakh employees would be affected.

Centre can summon any IPS Officer

IPS Officers can be summoned from any state. The Government of India has filed a counter affidavit in the "CAT" to challenge Tamil Nadu Government's petition.The GOI has quoted rule 6 (1) of the IPS (cadre) rules which empowered the Centre to take IPS officers from the state cadres.

No second job for Electoral Officer

Election Commission has sent a directive to government of all state that Chief Electoral Officers(CEOs) should not be given any other job . In some states CEOs and Deputy Electoral Officers are also holding other charge in State Government.

1968 batch IPS to get DG rank in Kerala

Hormese Tharakan ,1968 batch IPS Officer is being promoted to the rank of DG in Kerala on
December 1.He will be promoted in place of Joseph Thomas who is superannuating this month end. Tharakan may be appointed DG Intelligence.

Singh to join today

Shatrughana Singh will join the Ayodha Cell in the Government of India on Tuesday. He is 1983 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Case withdrawan against Meena

The Rajasthan Government has withdrawan a case against officer B K Meena. Earlier, a case had been registered against him .

Mohapatra to replace Bezbaruah !

Grapevine has it that S B Mohapatra is going to replace M K Bezbaruah Secretary Tourism in the Government of India. Mohapatra ,1967 batch IAS Officer of Orissa cadre is currently Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Bezbaruah is superannuating by end of this month .
