Bihar cadre 1969 batch IAS Officer Radha Singh is being appointed Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources in the Government of India. She will replace Palat Mohan Das.

Husband and Wife can not work in one Ministry

Husband and Wife can not be posted in one Ministry in the Governmnt of India.Proposal to post 1972 batch Haryana cadre IAS Officer Pamila Issar has been turned down on this specific ground. She was to be posted in the National Defence College in place of Rajasthan cadre 1975 batch IAS Officer Meenakhsi Hooja.Incidently Ranjit Issar husband of Pamila who is also an IAS Officer is serving in the Defence Ministry.

Home rejects Salim Ali's proposal

Ministry of Home Affairs has rejected a proposal to post Salim Ali as Joint Director in the CBI. A proposal to post 1978 batch Manipur-Tripura cadre IPS Officer Salim Ali in the CBI had been mooted recently.

A senior IAS Officer Prashant Mehta is very upset over the sudden demise of Madhav Rao Scindia. 1975 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS Officer had been PS to Scindia for seven years in the Ministries of Civil Aviation, Railways and Tourism. He also worked with Scindia as OSD in the Ministry of HRD. Mehta who is currently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance had been associated with Scindia for the last 15 years.

CS and DGs conference on October 5

The Cabinet Secretary has convened a meeting of Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police of all the states on October 5 . The meeting is aimed to discuss matters pertaining to the internal security. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister are going to address the meeting.

IPS Officers asked to vacate Government accommodation

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has asked the IPS Officers to vacate official quarters. Addressing the West Bengal IPS Officers Association, the Chief Minister said that those who were having personal flats and homes must vacate official accommodation. The association on the other hand urged the Chief Minister to look into the disparities on promotion between IAS and the IPS officers.
