Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau Gopal Achari is superannuating this month end. Number one in the 1966 batch Gopal Achari belongs to Bihar cadre. So far name of his successor has not been announced.

Sundaravadivelu to be Secretary to CM

Sundaravadivelu is being appointed Secretary to the new Pondicherry Chief Minister.Paneerselvam who is currently Secretary to the Chief Minister may be appointed Transport Commissioner.Ratan Singh is likely to be appointed Director Industries.

Major Gen. Bhupinder Singh to be promoted

Military Secretary to the President Bhoopinder Singh is being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.Orders are expected to be issued in a couple of months.

Ganai to be RC J&K Government

Khursheed Ahmad Ganai has been appointed new Resident Commissioner in Delhi by the Jammu & Kashmir Government. Pankaj Jain who was Resident Commissioner has been transferred and posted as Commissioner -Secretary, ARI.

Four IGP's promoted in Punjab

Four Inspectors General of Police Ms S S Virk, K K Atri, N P S Aulakh and R S Chalia have been promoted to the rank of ADG in Punjab.While Virk will be ADG (Security) Atri has been shifted to (Crime). Aulakh has been made ADG (Administration). Chalia is yet to get posting. Meanwhile S C Jain ADG (Complaints) has been transferred to Punjab Electricity Board.ADG (Security) B P Tiwari has been sent to Training.S V Singh ADG (Security) will now be ADG (Computer).

A major IAS reshuffle has taken place in Andhra Pradesh. V P Jauhri will now be new APC.His predecessor Jainder Singh has been made Principal Secretary Commerce and Industries.T Gopal Reddy has been appointed Chairman of AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.H S Brahma has been made PS Forests and Environment.S Chellappa will be new Secretary Child and Women Welfare.Prakasam who was Collector Vishakhapatnam has been made Director Horticulture.S P Singh will be Commissioner Chile and Women Welfare. Excise Commissioner T Satyanarain Rao has been transferred as Additional Commissioner Relief.Four districts will have new Collectors. K Madhusudan Rao and R P Sisodia will be new Collectors of Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts respectively. Sunil Sharma will now be Collector of Vishakhapatnam.Karikal Valaven has been made Collector Prakasam.Meanwhile Nalgonda Collector has been appointed MD of Civil Supplies Corporation.R M G Oneta will be ED APIIC.

N K Singhal has taken over as Director (Finance) in the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). Earlier he was ED in the NFL.

Shrivastava to get extension !

Chairman of the Shipping Corporation of India P K Shrivastava is likely to get another six months extension. He was granted three-month extension in July .
