Boparai acting secretary of Planning Commission

Swarn Singh Boparai by an internal order has been appointed Secretary Planning Commission. He is 1964 batch IAS Officer of Punjab cadre. Boparai has been appointed in place of N C Saxena who has proceeded on long leave early this week.

1968 batch IAS Officers get CS rank

Two 1968 batch IAS Officers in Orissa, Srinivas Rath and Sanjeeb Charan Hota have been promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary.

Madiyal and Krishnamurthy to get DG rank in Karnataka

1966 batch IPS Officer T Madiyal and 1967 batch IPS Officer Dr S Krishnamurthy are being promoted to the rank of Director General in Karnataka.Promotion of the two officers will take place soon after the retirement of P S Ramanujam and R Vishwanathan this month end.

Two IAS Officers interrogated

Goa police has interrogated Vanthela Pachua and Jitendra Kumar Dadoo in connection with alleged Rs 9 crore-power rebate scandal. Both are UT cadre IAS Officers.While Dadoo belongs to 1983 batch, Vanthela 1976 batch.

Mishra promoted in Orissa

P C Mishra has been promoted to the rank of ADG in Orissa. He has been posted as ADG Special Armed Forces. Earlier, he was IG railways.

R C Sharma has been appointed new member of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority.Former Oriental Insurance Company General Manager Sharma has replaced H Ansari.

Shenoy is Secretary North-East

P Dinanath Shenoy has been appointed Secretary of the newly created Department of North-East. Shenoy who is currently Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs is 1967 batch IAS Officer of Karnataka cadre.

Balakrishnan is ambassador to Cuba

Senior IFS Officer Bhaskar Blakrishnan will be India's new ambassador in Cuba. He will replace R Rajgopal.Another Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs Deepak Ray has been appointed ambassador in Uganda.

New HPCL Director

N K Puri has been appointed Director (Marketing) of the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL).He will take over from S K Kapoor.

Lt.General Prakash Suri has taken over as DG of Border Roads Organisation. Earlier he was posted in Military Engineering Pune.
