Dinesh Kumar Tyagi who was Director in the Ministry of Banking has been promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary .1981 batch IAS Officer of Manipur Tripura cadre has been made Custodian in the ministry.

Supreme Court's ruling on inter-cadre transfer

The Supreme Court has given ruling that inter cadre transfers of All India Service Officers can not be made in a given case to his/her `homestate' on ground of marriage. Mamta Anurag Sharma an IPS Officer of West Bengal cadre had sought AP cadre after her marriage with Anurag Sharma who is also an IPS Officer of AP cadre.

IB and RAW in touch with FBI

Indian security agencies IB and RAW are in touch with the US agency FBI. IB Chief K P Singh and RAW Chief Vikram Sood have spoken to the FBI officials on phone. Indian agencies have assured full cooperation in combating terrorism.
