Post to be abolished in DoT

Grapevine has it that the post of Member (Production) in the Department of Tele-Communications will be abolished.R N Goyal Member (Production) is superannuating this month end and the name of his successor has so far not been announced.

S Mukhopadhyay has taken over as Chief Labour Commissioner in the Government of India.He belongs to Central Labour Services. Earlier the post was held by 1970 batch IAS Officer of UT cadre Subhash Sharma.

Mahapatra to join GOI

Prashant Kumar Mahapatra is joining the Government of India as Director in the Ministry of Commerce. He is 1985 batch IAS Officer of Haryana cadre.

Bandana Jena is back to Orissa

Bandana Kumari Jena who was with the DFID is back to the parent Orissa cadre. 1979 batch IAS Officer Bandana had also been in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. On her return from deputation she has been appointed Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central).

S N Shukla will be new Secretary Backward Class Welfare. J P Vishwakarma has been appointed Director Panchayati Raj.

IPS reshuffle in TamilNadu

About one dozen IPS Officers have been transferred in TamilNadu.Vibhakar Sharma IG (Intelligence) has been made IG (Prisons) Chennai and Bhola Nath has been appointed IG (Elections). Other changes are: Ashutosh Shukla DIG Coimbatore,C V Rao DIG Tiruchy will also hold the charge of Commissioner.Anand Kumar Somani ASP Nanguneri Sub-Division, C Murugeswaran SP Crime Branch CID Coimbatore, K Gopalkrishnan Deputy Commissioner Law and Order Triunelveli, N Chenbaharaman Commandant 1st battalion Triuchy, A M S Gunaseelan SP CCIW CID Chennai and S Avudaysppan SP Crime Branch CID Chennai.

Qureshi is new SD DD Kendra Srinagar

Siraj Qureshi has been transferred from Bhopal to Srinagar as Station Director Doordarshan Kendra. Ashraf Sahil Station Director Srinagar Kendra has been shifted to Bhopal. Fayaz Sharyar Controller Programmes Kashmir Channel has been posted as DD's PGF Jammu.

Mandloi is DDG Doordarshan

L D Mandloi has been appointed Deputy Director General Doordarshan. Mandloi has been made incharge of all the regional kendras in the country. Another DDG R H Rao will look after the Kashmir Channel.

IG RPF removed from panel

Rachpal Singh, IG Railway Protection Force has been removed from the recruitment process of Sub-Inspectors.His removal came in the wake of some complaints.

Bagchi new Passport Officer Banglore

Soumen Bagchi has taken over as Regional Passport Officer Banglore. He is 1993 batch IFS Officer. Bagchi has succeeded Nagendra Prasad.

Ashok Kumar an Indian Forest Service Officer will be Principal Chief Conservator Forests Gujarat.Incidently, he will be PCCF only for six working days beginning October 1.

Enquiry recommended against two IAS Officers in Goa

The Goa Police have recommended departmental enquiry against two UT cadre IAS Officers in connection with 9 crore-power scandal in the state. Currently both the officers Jitendra Kumar Dadoo 1983 batch and Pachuau Vanhela 1976 batch are posted outside the state.
