Raj Pratap Singh will be new Private Secretary to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajapyee.The 1983 batch IAS Officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre will replace Anand Rajan who is joining the World Bank next month.

Tenure of Textiles Commissioner ends

B C Khatua Textiles Commissioner of the country is back to the parent Maharastra cadre. Tenure of the 1976 batch IAS Officer ended recently. Khatua had been on deputation to the Government of India since 1996.

Sanjay Narayan not to get extension

Sanjay Narayan, Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Human Resource Development is unlikely to get extension in his tenure. Tenure of 1976 batch IAS Officer of Maharastra cadre Sanjay Narayan is coming to an end on October 31.

Prithvi Pal Singh to replace Seth?

Grapevine has it that Prithvi Pal Singh will be the next Chairman of the VSNL. He is currently Director (Operations) in the VSNL.The present incumbent D P S Seth is likely to join the DoT as Member (Services) next month.

Core-Committee of CBI

A Core-Committee headed by Additional Director Vijay Shankar on International Terrorism has been set up by the CBI.Other members of the Committee are: R N Kaul JD, R N Swani JD, Neeraj Kumar JD, Lok Nath Behra DD, A K Suri DD, Nand Kishore DD and O P Chhatwal SP. First meeting of the committee has already been held last week.
