Power Minister Suresh Prabhu is in a dilemma.Though, he is averse to the idea of posting of a technocrat as Secretary Power,he has now no choice except to carry out the wishes of the Prime Minister's office.Search Committee short listed four technocrats on Saturday for the prestigious post of Secretary Power . They are Ms R P Singh, Yogendra Prasad, R V Sahi and C P Jain. . Now Suresh Prabhu has to pick up an incumbent from among the four while, keeping in mind the choice of the PMO. Can this upright Minister dare to reject this panel ?

Chaturvedi to take over today !

Secretary Education in the Government of India B K Chaturvedi is all set to take over as Secretary Petroleum on Monday. Name of his successor in the Ministry of Human Resource Development is yet to be made public .

Prabhakaran Srinivasan to officiate

Indications are that Special Secretary Power Prabhakaran Srinivasan will officiate as Secretary till the new appointment is made . Secretary Power A K Basu who superannuated on March 31 is going to be appointed Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority.

Ravindra is new CS Karnataka

Dr A Ravindra has assumed the charge of Chief Secretary of Karnataka. 1965 batch IAS officer Ravindra has replaced Teresa Bhattacharya who superannuated on March 31. The new Chief Secretary would have a tenure of nine months.

Justice Shrivastava to go Allahabad

Justice S P Shrivastava of the Gwalior Bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court is being shifted to the Allahbad High Court.

Ansari to join Madhya Pradesh Government

M W Ansari 1984 batch IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre is going on deputation to the Madhya Pradesh Government for a period of three years. Orders of Ansari who is currently IG Sarguja are to be issued in a week or two.

Sanjay Bhusssreddi has been appointed new District Collector of Barelley.Rama Raman who was DM Barelley has not been given any posting.

Eight IAS officers resign in Rajasthan

Rajasthan (with much smaller cadre) is also not far behind in resignation of IAS officers. In last five years 8 officers have resigned. Indu Bhushan 1983 batch IAS officer started the trend in 1997 followed by Sukhdeep Brar (1979) Atul Gupta (1980) Tejinder Sandhu (1981) Anirudh Krishna (1982) Anjana Bhushan (1983) Indu Bhushan (1983) and Rajat Modwell (1990) Three more officers may resign soon.

IPS changes in Maharastra

Dr Satya Pal Singh has been appointed IG Intelligence in Maharastra.P N Ningloh has been shifted to Nagpur as Joint Police Commissioner. Shri Devi Goyal will be IG PCR Department.

Dr Rajvir Singh has taken over as Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap Agriculture University Udaipur.

IPS reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh

About two dozen IPS officers have been reshuffled in Uttar Pradesh.Transfer list goes here :

PC Singh, DIG police, home guards, Lucknow, has been transferred EOW, Lucknow as DIG. Rajiv Narayan Srivastav, DIG PAC Barelli sector, will be the new Deputy Commandant General, home guards, Lucknow. KK Saxena, DIG PTS Unnao, has been shifted to Barelli sector as DIG PAC. SK Sharma, DIG PAC Moradabad sector, has been transferred to Moradabad as DIG PTS. Chavinath Singh, DIG Moradabad, will be the new DIG PAC Meerut sector. SC Gupta, DIG Meerut sector, has been sent on deputation to New Delhi as CVO Alliance Air Ltd. SK Saxena DIG UP Nepal border, Khiri has been transferred as DIG PAC Moradabad sector. The new assignment for A Pallanivel, currently posted as IG law and order, Lucknow, will be IG PAC headquarters, Lucknow. PC Sabharwal, who was on deputation, on his return has been posted as IG law and order, Lucknow. DK Panda, IG (waiting posting) has been posted as IG rules and manuals, Lucknow. Ashish Gupta, on his return from Kosava will be SP police headquarters, Allahabad. SP Brihaspati Mani Tripathi, who was on waiting posting, now takes over as SP food cell at Lucknow. Malkhan Singh Yadav, Commandant 20th battalion PAC Azamgarh, takes over as vice-principal PTC Sitapur. Commandant 43th battalion PAC Etah, Brijraj will now be SP EOW special cell at Lucknow. Chandirka Rai, commandant 39th battalion PAC Mirzapur, will now be the new vice-principal of ATC Sitapur. Girish Nandan Singh, who was serving as SP food cell, Lucknow, has been promoted to DIG and goes to PTS Unnao. Vice-principal ATC, Sitapur, Vinay Kumar Verma has been promoted to become DIG UP-Nepal border at Sidharthanagar. Bhagwan Swaroop Srivastava, ASP Allahabad, has been shifted to Rae Bareli as commandant 25th battalion PAC. ASP Meerut, Piyush Mordiya, will now serve as commandant 39th battalion PAC,Mirzapur. K Satyanarain, ASP Agra, has been shifted to 43rd battalion PAC Etah, as commandant. Suvendra Kumar Bhagat, ASP Gorakhpur, goes to Varanasi as SP regional intelligence. Amit Chandra, ASP Aligarh, will be the new commandant 20th battalion PAC, Azamgarh.
