Ravindra Gupta to retire Secretary Heavy Industries in Government of India Ravindra Gupta is superannuating this month end. He is 1966 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. Four Secretary level posts to be filled Four Secretary level posts in the Government of India are to be filled up this month.Posts of Secretary Health and Heavy Industries will fall vacant by this month end following the superannuation of Jawed Chaudhry and Ravindra Gupta. Two posts of Secretary Drinking Water and Elementary Education are already lying vacant . ASI chief is not decided There has been a lot of delay in finalising Director General (DG) of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Indian Minister for Culture Jagmohan, who is pushing hard to have a non-IAS as the DG, has so far not received a clearance from the Cabinet. Although, select committee has recommended names of three professionals. They are: B.B.Lal Director of Shimla based Centre for Indian Advanced Studies, V.N.Mishra HoD at Deccan College Pune and B.N.Goswami HoD in Chandigarh University. Out of them B.B.Lal has experience of having served as the DG with the ASI. M Shankar to get additional charge Secretary Official Languages M Shankar is being given additional charge of Drinking Water. Haryana cadre 1967 batch IAS officer Shankar would now hold two departments. Sushil Tripathi to be Special Secretary Elementary Education ! In all probability Sushil Tripathi will be promoted and posted as Special Secretary Elementary Education in the Ministry of Human Resource Development .1968 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Tripathi is number one in the list of empanelled officers .Orders of Tripathi are expected to be issued soon after the return of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to Delhi. No IAS will be ITDC Chief ! Now there are indications that the post of Chairman ITDC will not go to IAS. Although a panel of ten Joint Secretary level IAS officers has been prepared ,indications say that the post is being downgraded to the Director level to accommodate present ITDC Chief Ashwin Lohani . Lohani who is Director level officer from the Railways Service has been able to get his name included in the panel along with ten senior IAS officers of the country. Four AICC Vice Presidents soon Congress President Sonia Gandhi is believed to have made up her mind to appoint four Vice Presidents in the All India Congress Committee.The AICC which is being revamped next week may have four tier system which includes Vice Presidents, General Secretaries, Secretaries and Joint Secretaries. Dismissal of IAS officer recommended Department of Personnel has received a letter from the Maharastra Government seeking dismissal of 1981 batch IAS officer Ashok Kumar Lal. ACP suspended in Karnataka ACP Traffic Adugodi , K M Muddaiah has been suspended in Karnataka on charges of deriliction of duty. IAS reshuffle in Bihar Arvind Kumar Chaudhry, A B Naik and Vaidya Nath Mishra have been appointed new Collectors of Khagaria,Purnea and Chappra districts respectively. R K Khandelwal and Deepak Kumar have not been given any posting. IPS changes in Punjab Chief Vigilance Director S V Singh will now be DG Home Guards and Civil Defence.
