One dozen-IPS officers of 1968 batch have been empanelled to the rank of Director General in the Government of India. Meeting for empanelment was held in Delhi on Monday.

Swaminathan to be new CS Andhra Pradesh !

If grapewine is to be believed, K Swaminathan, a 1965-batch IAS officer is all set to become the next Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh. Swaminathan is currently the Chief Commissioner of Land Administratin and it has always been a tradition in AP to make the CCLA earlier the CLR as the chief secretary. Incidentally, the current Chief Secretary P V Rao was also the CCLA before elevation.
A 1966-batch IAS officer C Arjuna Rao, Special Chief Secretary, Revenue, is also trying for the post of CS, though Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly made up mind to appoint Swaminathan as the Chief Secretary.
