New rule about Inter-State deputation

The Government of India has decided not to allow inter-state deputation to All India Service officers before completion of nine years in service.It means newly recruited IAS,IPS and IFS officers would not be able to go on inter-state deputation.

Grapevine has it that Commissioner Mumbai Municipal Corporation K C Shrivastava will be next Chief Secretary of Maharastra. He is 1966 batch IAS officer. Present Chief Secretary Rangnathan is all set to become Chairman of the Maharastra Public Service Commission.

Lohani to be ITDC Chairman

Ashwin Lohani will be Chairman of the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) for a period of three years. Name of officiating Chairman Lohani has been cleared at all levels. Besides Lohani about one dozen IAS officers were also in the run for the job.

Jagpal Singh Burjia has taken over as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Water Resources. 1981 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer Burjia has replaced Mukul Joshi who has gone back to the parent Punjab cadre after completion of his tenure.

Amidst prediction by pollsters of a hung assembly in Uttar Pradesh political pundits do not rule possibility of a coalition Government in Uttar Pradesh.The possible coalition comprising BSP and BJP could, once again see Ms. Mayawati at the helm of affairs in the Uttar Pradesh government. If it happens then that would be an added advantage for the NDA Government headed Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The NDA Government would become stronger because in the bargain BSP MPs would back the Vajpayee government.
