Who would be the new Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs ?

The tussle is between Arun K Singh (1979 batch), Navtej Singh Sarna (1980 batch) and Gautam Mukhopadhyaya (1980 batch). Let us check their respective back grounds. All the three are from Delhi University (where else ?) and are excellent debators from their college days. Arun Singh is BA from St Stephen's College and MA (Economics) from Delhi School of Economics. He has also taught at St Stephen's College before joining the IFS. He is now Joint Secretary at Delhi looking after Pakistan.
Sarna is B Com from Sri Ram College of Commerce followed by LLB from Delhi University (so has Vijay Goel and Arun Jaitley's backing). Now Sarna is handling the Press Affairs at our embassy at Washington. Gautam is from Doon School, St Stephen's College and MA from Delhi School of Economics. Now he is at Kabul. Arun Singh and Navtej Sarna were Delhi University's ace debators. In addition Arun Singh was a braodcaster with Delhi center of Door Darshan. Gautam has also equally good credential and has just finished a year long course at National Defence College, New Delhi. If Navtej Sarna's case can have the support of the former SRCC students like Goel and Jaitley (remember that the Police Commissioner of Delhi R S Gupta is also from SRCC), the other two are not far behind. Both of them are from Patna. (So is Yaswant Sinha the new External Affairs Minister) Arun Singh's younger brother (IAS Maharashtra cadre) is PS to V P goel, Shipping Minister and Gautam's father was a renowned Doctor from Patna. All are watching with baited breath as to who would win the race. All three are rated as very good officers. The consolation prize may be appointment as Press Secretary to President.
