K Roy Paul Special Secretary Environment in the Government of India is being tipped to be next Power Secretary .In all probability 1967 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer Roy Paul would replace A K Basu who is superannuating next month.

1968 IPS empanelment begins

Empanelment of 1968 batch IPS officers to the rank of Director General in the Government of India has commenced. Altogether there are about 40 officers of this batch in the country.Two officers of this batch have already been promoted to the rank of DG in Assam and Chhattisgarh.

Vijay Nambiar to join UN in July

Neela Gangadharan is Excise Commissioner Kerala

Neela Gangadharan who was Minister (Agriculture) in Embassy of India at Rome is back to parent Kerala cadre. On her return 1975 batch IAS officer Neela has been posted as Excise Commissioner.

Somendra Nath Biswas has been appointed new Chief Secretary of Bihar. 1966 batch IAS officer Biswas would replace Mukund Prasad who superannuated on Thursday. Incidentally Biswas would be taking over as Chief Secretary for the third time.

Prasad appointed DG Jharkhand

R R Prasad has been appointed new DGP of Jharkhand. He would replace T P Sinha who retired on January 31.

Cabinet okays Police Commissioner system in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has decided to introduce Police Commissioner system . The new system would be enforced at Indore on an experiment basis for one year.
