1982 batch IAS officers empanelled

Finally 1982 batch IAS officers have been empanelled to the rank of Joint Secretary in the Government of India. Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee last week cleared the file of empanelment. Altogether 71 IAS officers figure in the list .

Tiwari to be Ambassador to Myanmar

Joint Secretary rank IFS officer Yogesh Tiwari will be new Ambassador to Myanmar.He would replace Vivek Katju who has been appointed Ambassador to Afganistan.

Patwardhan gets extension

Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health Govind Ramchandra Patwardhan has been granted three months extension in his tenure. Tenure of 1968 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer Patwardhan was coming to an end in early March.

Surjit Mitra to be JS and FA Petroleum Ministry

Dr Surjit Mitra is being appointed Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas . He is 1977 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Mitra would replace Ravi Saxena who died last week.

Anil Pande to be RPF DG

Anil Pande is all set to take over as Director General of the Railway Protection Force on March 1. 1967 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer Pande is currently ADG Bhagalpur. He would replace Haridas Rao ,last serving 1963 batch IPS officer.

IPS reshuffle in Andhra Pradesh

M V Krishna Rao has been appointed new Police Commissioner Hyderabad.He would replace P Ramulu who has taken over as DGP. K Sadashiva Rao ADG (organisation) will be ADG (Fire Services). Ajit Kumar Mohanty has been made ADG (Anti Corruption Bureau). ADG P Gautam Kumar has been shifted to Vigilance and Enforcement. H R Kataria has been transferred as ADG (Coordination).

IOC Best Employer

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has been ranked 17 in the list of 25 companies shortlisted by Hewitt Associates for being the Best Employer in India for the year 2002.

Hotel Corporation CVO repatriated

Chief Vigilance Officer of the Hotel Corporation of India T G Samuel has been repatriated prematurely to his parent organisation. He has been sent back to the Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Services in the Ministry of Defence.

Half a page advertisement showing Punjab DGP Sarabjeet Singh promoting a product has generated a controversy in the state . Now the IAS and IPS circles are asking one question -is it not violation of service rules ?.
