Nripendra Mishra to be next Commerce

Finally the PMO has decided to appoint Nripendra Mishra as the next Commerce Secretary. 1967 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Mishra is currently Special Secretary in the same Ministry.Earlier several names were in circulation for this prestigious post. The said post is to fall vacant by this month end following the superannuating of Probir Sengupta.

Five 1968 batch officers

Five 1968 batch IAS officers have reportedly found a place in the list of empanelment to the rank of Secretary in the Government of India.Their rank would be equivalent to the Secretary. They are Ms Arun Kshetrapal, C Ramchandran, R M Premkumar, D T Joseph, and S P Arya.

1980 batch IPS to get promotion in IB

1980 batch IPS officers are being promoted to the rank of Joint Director in the Intelligence Bureau. There are four IPS officers in the organisation.

New post of JS , HRD to be created

A new post of Joint Secretary in Elementary Education in the Ministry of Human Resource Development is being created. A proposal has already been moved in this regard.

Ashok Jaitley unlikely to get extension

Chief Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir Ashok Jaitley is unlikely to get an extension. Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has asked the Centre for an extension of 1964 batch IAS officer Jaitley who is superannuating this month end. In case of refusal of extension , the Chief Minister is going to appoint Ashok Jaitley as his adviser.

Ronen Sen to be India's High Commissioner

Senior IFS officer Ronen Sen is being appointed India's High Commissioner in London. Sen is currently posted in Germany.

Promilla Issar to join as JS Revenue

Promilla Issar is joining as Joint Secretary Revenue in the Ministry of Finance. Orders of 1972 batch IAS officer Promilla Issar were issued last week. She would replace Maharastra cadre 1971 batch IAS officer Charusheela Sohoni who has gone back to the parent state after completion of her tenure.

New Maharastra Transport Commissioner

Finally the Maharastra Government has appointed 1976 batch IAS officer Ratnaraj Bansod as Transport Commissioner. The post had been lying vacant for last several months after shifting of Anand Kulkarni to some other important department. Meanwhile 1981 batch IAS officer Ramesh Ubale has been shifted to Small Scale Industries . 1985 batch IAS officer Uke Ujjwal has been made Secretary of Slum Reconstruction Authority.

Special Secretary Commerce Nripendra Mishra has been shifted to Fertilizers as Secretary.Additional Secretary Revenue G C Shrivastava on promotion has been shifted to the Tariff Commission. Binu Sen will now be Special Secretary Agriculture. Ashok Pradhan has been made Secretary Small Scale Industries. Purnalingam has been appointed Additional Secretary Power. A Dasgupta will now be Additional Secretary Revenue. Krishna Bhatnagar will go to Planning Commission.A Goswami will be Secretary Drinking Water.
