1982 batch IAS empanelment next month

Delayed empanelment of 1982 batch IAS officers to the rank of Joint Secretary in the Government of India is going to take place in February. After vigilance clearance and internal assessment the number of empanelled officers is said to have gone up to 83.

Orissa Government has issued a notification saying that CR's of officers in the rank of DIG and above will only be written by their senior IPS officers..CRs of SPs will, however, be written by the Collectors and Divisional Commissioners.

DIG CBI Rakesh Asthana who is dealing with fodder scam in Jharkhand has not been granted extension. 1984 batch Gujarat cadre IPS officer Asthana would return to the parent cadre in the first week of February. Asthana had been on deputation to the CBI since 1992.

R P Rajamani has taken over as Chief Income Tax Commissioner Chennai I.She has replaced D P Saxena who has been transferred to Mumbai.

Himachal Pradesh Government has appointed B D Sharma new Director Public Relations. He is currently Additional Director in the PR Department. The post was earlier held by IAS officers.
