US surveying Indian CM's

The Bush administration is believed to have commissioned an extremely discreet study regarding Chief Ministers' of different Indian States.As the grapevine has it, the survey mainly pertains to level of corruption. However,in the wake of last year's terrorist's assault on twin towers of World Trade Centre and the Pentagon ,the survey was moving at a snail's pace.

Kaul's "No" led to Chatterjje's appointment

If insiders are to be believed Petroleum Secretary V N Kaul had been sounded for the prestigious post of Secretary Commerce in the GOI.When Kaul politely declined the offer, on the basis of seniority Mines Secretary Dipak Chatterjee was chosen for the post.

CBI officer deputed to Interpol

Rajesh Ranjan a Bihar cadre 1984 batch IPS officer has been deputed to Interpol by the CBI. He would replace Manipur-Tripura cadre 1983 batch IPS officer P Sandhu who has completed his tenure in the Interpol Headquarters.

Kerala Government has revoked the suspension of 1989 batch IAS officer K Suresh Kumar.He has been posted as Director Fisheries.

Apurva Varma is going on deputation to the Government of India. 1987 batch IAS officer of TamilNadu cadre is joining as General Manager Handicrafts and Handlooms Export Corporation Ltd Chennai.

Dash is Joint Secretary Steel

Satya Narayan Dash is the new Joint Secretary Steel in the Government of India. 1973 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre was Principal Secretary Home prior to his joining the GOI.

Katju appointed Ambassador to Afghanistan

Vivek Katju would be the first Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan after resumption of ties. Currently he is the Ambassador to Myanmar.

New Commissioner in Chennai civic body

T.N. Ramanathan has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Chennai Municipal Corporation(CMC), Chennai. He will replace P.R. Sampath following his transfer under the directive of Election Commission.

Additional charge to Sharma in Haryana

T.K. Sharma has been given Additional charge of Deputy Commissioner Rohtak, as the existing Commissioner Anil Malik has proceeded on leave.
