"CAT" to be abolished !

Grapevine has it that the Government of India has decided to abolish the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). A draft bill to this effect is ready in the Law Ministry to be tabled during the next session of the Parliament.Government has a feeling that the "CAT" has not delivered desired results.


Will N N Khanna be changed ?

Will Secretary Steel N N Khanna be changed ?.His minister Brij Kishore Tripathy has made his views known to the Prime Minister's Office. It's well known in the bureaucratic circles that the Minister and the Secretary are not getting along well.


N Balachandran to return early

DIG CBI N Balachandran is expected to return in a month or two, to the parent Tamil Nadu cadre whose tenure is to end in June. 1974 batch IPS officer Balachandran has requested the CBI for an early repatriation.

Garg to join GOI

Saurabh Garg is joining the Government of India as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He is 1991 batch IAS officer of Orissa cadre.

V N Singh to retire

DG of the Bureau of Police Research and Development V N Singh is superannuating this month end. Successor of UT cadre IPS officer Singh has not yet been made.

Extensions denied

Centre has not obliged three State Governments J & K ,Chhatisgarh and Jharkhand .While the J & K Chief Minister had asked for the extension of Chief Secretary Ashok Jaitley; Chief Ministers of Jharkhand and Chhatisgarh had requested for giving extension to DGP's T P Sinha and R L S Yadav respectively. All the three officers are superannuating this month end.

V K Das is DGP Chhatisgarh

V K Das has been appointed new DGP of Chhatisgarh. 1966 batch IPS officer Das would replace R L S Yadav who is superannuating on January 31.

Karandikar is MD MSRDC

Prabhakar Karandikar has joined as Managaing Director of Maharastra State Road Development Corporation. He is 1973 batch IAS officer.

1968 batch IPS gets DG rank

1968 batch IPS officer Ashok Darbari has been promoted to the rank of DG in Chhatisgarh. He has been made DG Home Guards and Jails. Darbari is the second officer of this batch after Assam to have been promoted to the rank of DG.
