P Madhvan Nair has taken over as the new Secretary to new President A P J Abdul Kalam. He is 1967 batch IAS officer of UT cadre. Nair who hails from Kerala is known to the President for the last several years.

Defence Secretary Subir Dutta has been given additional charge of Defence Production held by P Madhvan Nair. Madhvan Nair has taken over as the Secretary to the President.
