Finally Tapan Ray has won and Shankar Agrawal has lost the battle.PS to Union Textiles Minister Kanshi Ram Rana ,1982 batch Gujarat cadre IAS officer Ray is being appointed Director General of the Apparel Export Promotion Council next month.Earlier with the backing of Union Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia 1980 batch UP cadre IAS officer Shankar Agrawal had been almost succeeded to get this prestigious post. This post was vacant after Rajiv Takru of Gujarat 1979 batch reverted to the state after completing his tenure and Shri Sudhir Bhargava, JS Textiles was holding Additional Charge.

Ashok Lavasa to get extension

Joint Secretary Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance Ashok Lavasa is all set to get six months extension in his tenure. Tenure of 1980 batch Haryana cadre IAS officer Lavasa is coming to an end on August 31.

Dhirendra Singh to be Secretary Defence Procurement
