Jaswant Singh to replace Yashwant Sinha ?

Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is likely to reshuffle his cabinet in May. There are indications that External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh will replace Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha. Name of Disinvestment Minister Arun Shourie is also doing the round for the post of Finance Minister. Yashwant Sinha may be shifted to Ministry of External Affairs .

Will BJP President get Cabinet Berth ?

Will President of Bharatiya Janata Party Jana Krishnamoorthy be inducted in the Union Cabinet during next Cabinet reshuffle ?. Highly placed sources said that since there is no representation of BJP from TamilNadu,Jana was being given Cabinet rank in the next reshuffle.

Will Venkaiah Naidu be next BJP Chief ?

There are strong reports that Union Rural Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu will be new BJP President. Chances of BJP President Jana Krishnamoorthy joining the Union Cabinet are bright.Though name of Union Parliametary Affairs and IT Minister Pramod Mahajan was in circulation, he is now out of the race. A major Cabinet reshuffle at the Centre is expected to take place in May.

IAS reshuffle in Gujarat

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the state government on Thursday shifted the Godhra district collector Jayanti S Ravi and posted her as commissioner, mid-day meal scheme. The new district collector of Panchmahals is Manoj Agarwal, who was joint secretary, energy and petrochemicals so far. In other transfers announced on Thursday, M Sahu, additional CEO of Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority, has been appointed as industries commissioner in addition to his present duties. K N Shelat, commissioner of disabilities, has been appointed commissioner of rural development. Rajesh Kishore, secretary in industries and mines, has been appointed as secretary, science and technology. In addition, he will continue to hold additional charge of CEO of Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB). R K Tripathi, chief editor of district gazetteers, will secretary higher and technical education. Modi government had sidelined Tripathi, a high-flying bureaucrat during the Keshubhai Patel regime. Another sidelined bureaucrat, Ravi Saxena, who was MD of Handloom Corporation, got little consolation in being appointed as commissioner, cottage and rural industries. Arvind Agarwal, commissioner of agriculture, will be municipal commissioner, Vadodara. D Rajgopalan, MD of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has been appointed principal secretary, Industries and mines. He comes in the place of L Mansingh who has gone on deputation. D K Sikri, MD of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has been appointed as MD, GIDC. Sunil Sud, CEO of GIDB, has been appointed as principal secretary, agriculture and cooperation. B K Sinha, principal secretary, transport has shifted to urban development and urban housing department. Sudha Anchalia, principal secretary, urban development, is now principal secretary, transport. J S Rana, principal secretary, science and technology, has been appointed MD of GSRTC. Amarjit Singh, health commissioner, has been posted as secretary, industries and mines. A K Luke, principal secretary, revenue (appeals), has been posted as principal secretary, tribal development. G D Vyas, secretary Gujarat Public Service Commission, has been appointed as commissioner of land reforms. Raj Gopal , additional commissioner of sales tax, has been appointed registrar of cooperatives . R M Joshi, registrar of cooperatives, becomes the additional commissioner of sales tax.

IPS changes in Karnataka

DIG Lokayukta H C Kishore Chandra has been appointed DIG Headquarters Bangalore. M F Pasha will now be DIG Security and Vigilance.
