Will CISF DG, H J Dora, move to the Border Security Force ?. Recent visit of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandra Babu Naidu , has fuelled speculations to this effect. Currently names of Ajay Raj Sharma and S C Chaube are doing the round for this prestigious post.

Will non-IAS be Secretary Finance ?

In case IAS officer is not appointed Secretary Finance in the Government of India who will make it to the coveted post ?.Names of over half a dozen professionals are in circulation for the job. They are : Ms Vijay Kelkar, Dr Rakesh Mohan, Dr Ashok Lahri, Arvind Virmani,Dr Shankar Acharya, Dr Narendra Yadav , Dr Ajay Shah, Kamath and Dr Tarun Das. Present Finance Secretary C M Vasudev is joining the World Bank next month end.

P Shankar resigns

TamilNadu Chief Secretary P Shankar has resigned. 1966 batch IAS officer Shankar according to the Chief Minister has sought voluntary retirement on personal grounds. Shankar who was scheduled to superannuate in September next year has not opened his mouth.

Sukavaneshwar has taken over as new Chief Secretary of TamilNadu. He is 1967 batch IAS officer.

Shekhar Agrawal on way out !

Joint Secretary Banking Shekhar Agrawal is on his way out. Only the Minister of State Banking, Vikhe Patil and his Additional Secretary S K Purkayastha know the reason. Agrawal is 1977 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Proposal to appoint Kerala cadre 1990 batch IAS officer, V Venu , and his wife as Deputy Directors in the IAS Academy, Mussorie, has been turned down by the Department of Personnel.

Customs JS post lying vacant

The post of the Joint Secretary in the Customs department is lying vacant since November last. Though an IAS is supposed to be posted on the said post, the irony is that he will have to work under the Customs Officer. This is probably the reason why a Haryana cadre IAS officer, Promila Issar , has outrightly refused to take up the task.
