Kerala Chief Secretary springs surprise

Kerala Chief Secretary, Venkatraman Krishnamurthy, has been permitted to retire one day ahead of his superannuation. 1966 batch IAS officer Krishnamurthy who is to superannuate on October 31 had sought voluntary retirement barely one day ahead of his retirement. Why ? -answer lies only with the Chief Secretary himself.
