Dr Sabasiva Rao is Director Commerce

Dr M Sabasiva Rao has joined the Government of India as Director in the Ministry of Commerce. Prior to this assignment, the 1984 batch IAS officer, Dr Rao, was Secretary to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu.

Bihar govt succumbs to IAS pressure

IAS in Bihar have succeeded in compelling the government to see to it that the state police takes action against the Gaya District Board Chairman, Bindeshwari Yadav, who has been accused of criminal intimidation and illegal confinement of the Deputy Development Commissioner, Mohan Lal Roy. The IAS Association in a recent meeting have resolved that if appropriate action was not taken against Yadav, they would resort to an intensified agitation. The state police, after much dilly-dallying, has now registered a case against Yadav.
