A powerful lobby in the corridors of power is active to see to it that a technocrat is appointed as the next Power Secretary after A K Basu. Kaul is new CAG

Finally Petroleum Secretary V N Kaul has been appointed Comptroller and Auditor General . 1965 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Kaul would take over from V K Shungloo who is superannuating on Friday.In terms of ranking this post is considered to be above the Cabinet Secretary's post.

M K Khanna to return

Mohan Krishna Khanna is returning to the parent Rajasthan cadre next month. Tenure of Additional Director General Tourism in the Government of India ,1974 batch IAS officer Khanna is coming to an end in the first week of April.
