IAS to lose Power Secretary's post ?

Powerful lobby of technocrats supported by a business house seems to have succeeded in grabbing the post of Power Secretary in the Government of India. Search Committee is meeting in Delhi on March 26 to suggest names of technocrats in place of IAS for the post. Will the IAS lobby allow this post to go to a technocrat ?.

CVC wants extension to Mathur

CVC N Vittal has recommended extension in tenure of V S Mathur IPS Member of the Commission. Tenure of Mathur is coming to an end on March 31. There are indications that Mathur would not be given any extension.

Calcutta High Court has set aside the appointment of West Bengal DGP D C Vajpayee .The Court has ordered a fresh appointment within three months. DG Home Guards Manas Chakravorty had gone to the court against his supercession.

Air Marshal Sekhon resigns

Air Marshal Sekhon has resigned and his resignation has been accepted by the Government. Air Marshal Sekhon had been asked to put in his papers after a letter that he had written to the then Punjab Chief Minister P S Badal to lobby the Prime Minister for a posting.
