Four 1970 batch IAS officers who are already empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary in Government of India are sure to get postings within a week or two.They are Ms Priye Darshi Thakur (Rajasthan cadre),L K Joshi (Madhya Pradesh cadre)N S Hariharan (AP cadre) and A K Jain (UP cadre). Two posts are to be filled in the Ministry of Defence , one each in the Cabinet Secretariat and the Surface Transport. Ramesh Chandra joins Telecom Board Ramesh Chandra has joined as Member (Production) in Telecom Board . He has succeeded R N Goyal whose term ended recently. Mohan Lal is DIG BSF Mohan Lal has joined the Border Security Force (BSF) as DIG. He is 1987 batch IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre. Surinder Kaur and Mahabal to be promoted Two Indian Information Service officers Surinder Kaur and Shakuntala Mahabal would be promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary this year. Najeeb Jung to rejoin ADB Najeeb Jung who had quit the IAS is rejoining the ADB in a month or two.1973 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer Jung had quit the service to join the ADB. Later on he had started his consultancy in London. UPSC Chairman to retire next month Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission Lt.General Surendra Nath is retiring by the end of next month. Godbole to be NHB Chief J N Godbole is being appointed new Chairman of National Housing Bank (NHB).He is currently Executive Director of the IDBI.Appointment of Godbole has been cleared at all levels.Ms V Sridhar, P R Das, V K Chopra and K Krishna Rai were also in the run for this post. SBI to have two new MD's A K Batra and P N Venkatachalam are being promoted as Managing Directors in the State Bank of India in a couple of months. Currently Batra and Venkatachalam are DMD's in the SBI. Bureaucratic reshuffle in MP next week A major bureaucratic reshuffle is expected to take place in Madhya Pradesh next week. Chief Minister Digvijay Singh is currently busy in giving final touches to the list of transfers. Shahi suspended Director of the Indian Sugarcane Research Institute Lucknow Dr H N Shahi has been suspended because of financial and administrative irregularities. Dr S R Mishra would officiate. Is Prakash Singh Badal pro landlords? Is former Chief Minister of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal pro "zamindars"(landlords)? Answer to this question is in affirmative if inner circles of Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amrinder Singh are to be believed.
