Vinod Vaish will be new Secretary Tele-com .1966 batch Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer Vaish is currently Secretary Labour in Government of India. He would replace Shyamal Ghosh who is superannuating this month end.

Joseph to be Chairman Mumbai Port Trust

Daniel Trevelyn Joseph is now being tipped to be the Chairman of the Mumbai Port Trust. 1968 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, Joseph is currently DG Shipping. Names of two other Maharashtra cadre IAS officers D K Shankaran and Ravi Bhushan Buddhiraja are also doing the round for the said post.

Will Govindrajan be Deputy Governor RBI ?

V Govindrajan, Secretary Industrial Development, is ahead in the race for the post of Deputy Governor Reserve Bank of India. He is 1967 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh. Two 1966 batch IAS officers are also in the race for the post .The post will fall vacant when Y V Reddy leaves for IMF July next.

Naresh Chaturvedi appointed MD FCI

Naresh Chaturvedi 1970 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre is finally joining Government of India. He will take up as Managing Director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI). Chaturvedi who has been empanelled to the rank of Additional Secretary was initially reluctant to join the GoI.

Dhanendra Kumar loses

Dhanendra Kumar who was ahead in the race for the post of Secretary Tele-Com has lost the battle.He is 1968 batch IAS officer. One IAS officer of 1966 batch belonging to a newly carved out state will be new Secretary Tele-Com after the superannuation of Shyamal Ghosh this month end.

Now Shankar Agrawal is ahead in the race for the post of Director General, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC). A proposal to appoint 1982 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre Tapan Ray has been turned down by the Union Minister of State, Department of Personnel, Vasundhara Raje Scindia. She is keen to appoint 1980 batch IAS officer of UP cadre Shankar Agrawal to the post. Incidently Tapan Ray is the PS of Union Textiles Minister Kanshi Ram Rana.

Satish Chandra returns to UT cadre

Joint Secretary in the Rural Development Department Satish Chandra failed to get another extension in his tenure and had to go back to the parent UT cadre. Chandra, a 1970 batch IAS officer has been, on his return, appointed Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Delhi Government . He was to be promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary in Government of India within next six months.

IAS reshuffle in Rajasthan imminent

IAS reshuffle is expected to take place in Rajasthan in a week or two. Several Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors are to be changed.
