First round of 1983 batch empanelment is complete

First round of the empanelment of 1983 batch IAS officers to the rank of Joint Secretary in the Government of India is complete. Altogether 74 officers of this batch figure in the list of empanelment.

DG-Tourism post abolished

The post of the DG-Tourism has ultimately been abolished. It was the Geeta Krishnan committee which has recommended the same.

1981 batch officer proceeds on leave

1981 batch Bihar cadre IAS, Arun Jha, is reported to have proceeded on leave. It is said that he was annoyed over not being made the Joint Secretary . He is the only one from his batch who has been left high and dry.

One post of JS to Elementary Education

One post of Joint Secretary -Child and Women Welfare- in the Government of India is being transferred to the Elementary Education in a couple of months.

M N Singh to retire

Mumbai Police Commissioner, M N Singh, is superannuating next month end. He is 1967 batch IPS officer.

Gupta to join CBI

Munna Prasad Gupta is joining the CBI as SP. He is 1995 batch IPS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

Guna Collector snubs Scindia

Collector Guna, Neelam Rao, is reported to have snubbed Guna MP, Jyotiraditya Scindia. Reason: She did not prefer to meet the MP after 9.30 PM as per the protocol. She is said to have told Scindia that her Protocol Officer will meet him after 9.30 PM.

IPS changes in Uttar Pradesh

C M Bhatta will now be ADG UP-Nepal border. R K Bhatia has been made ADG Security. A K D Dwivedi and Javed Akhtar will be DIG's of Lucknow and Azamgarh respectively. A K Senghar and R K Sonkar have been shifted to Intelligence. Jyotinarayan and M B Shukla will be new SP's of Unnao and Mainpuri respectively.

IAS changes in Punjab

Mrs Romila Dubey has been appointed Principal Secretary Culture and Archaeology. Geetika Kalha has been relieved of additional charge of these two departments.

IPS changes in Kerala

S Sreejita has been appointed SP Telecommunications. Sanjeev Patsohi will continue to be Police Commissioner Kozhikode.
